SENIOR HOUSING:

The Kamsack Housing Authority have senior housing units located  throughtout the town of Kamsack. Rent is based on 28% of gross income, up to a maximum of $452.00 a month. The Housing Authority pays the water and the heat and the tenant is responsible for paying the phone, power and cable.  Maintenance service is provided such as, cutting grass, cleaning snow and repairs. 

Semi-detached Units: 575 sq. ft. one bedroom with a double closet. Kitchen,dining room and livining room all open. Full bathroom with safety bars. Laundry area with stackable washer and dryer. Mechanical and stroage room is adaquate for a small freezer. Personal driveway and garden. Unit includes fridge, stove, washer and dryer.

Golden Acres Row Housing (Located between  Eaglestone Lodge and the Hospital). Row housing, one bedroom with walk-in type closet. 575 sq. ft. with kitchen and dining area together. Living room is seperate. Full bathroom with saftety bars. Stackable washer and dryer in the corner of the kitchen. The storage room is adaquate for a small freezer.

Davies Towers: Located at 100 Queen Elizabeth Blvd. West. This three storey apartment block has 26 units and 1 suite that is designed for wheelchair access.  All suites have one bedroom with large closests. The kitchen, dining and living room areas are an open space. There is a full bath with safety bars and a storage room in each suite. Laundry rooms are located on the second and third floors and there are designated times for each suite to do laundry. The main floor hosts a tenants lounge with a kitchen. There is a security system at the main enterance and an elevator. Parking is avaiable for vehicles for $100.00 per year with an extra charge for plug-in parking.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING:

Kamsack Housing Authority has family units located on the south side of Queen Elizabeth Boulevard.
The family units are three bedroom houses.  The kitchen and dining area are together with a separate living room and full bath.  Rent is based on income and the tenant pays all utilities.

Geothermal and Self-Generated Renewable Power Loan Program:
This program is available to all residents who install a Canadian Geoexchange Coalition (CGC) certified geothermal heating system, and/or a renewable power system, may be eligible for loans of up to $50,000 from SaskPower Eneraction.  Go to www.saskpower.com

Energy Efficient Rebate for New Homes:
SaskEnergy administers a $3,500 rebate prgram for residents who are building a new home that is ENERGY STAR® qualified R-2000 certified or has an EneGuide for New Homes rating of 80 or above and want to install a CGC certified geothermal system.  Go to www.saskpower.com

Net Metering Program
Saskatchewan Research Council administers offers up to 35%, to a maximum of $35,000, for Saskatchewan Residents who wish to participate by installing a qualified renewable power system up to 100 kilowats.  For more information go to www.saskpower.com

Sask Watershed Authority:
Toilet Replacement Rebate:
The Go Green Fund provides financial support to Saskatchewan people, communities and businesses to help them Go Green. The Provincial Toilet Replacement Rebate Program is funded through the Go Green Fund.
