Annual and Special Events

The Town of Kamsack has more than 200 special events per year organized by volunteers representing over 40 clubs and organizations.  There is always something to do in Kamsack.  This list features our larger, community events that are held year after year.  For more events and activities, please visit our events calendar.

Duck Mountain Loppet
One of the largest cross country ski events in our province takes place at the end of February each and every year.  The Loppet begins at the Little Log Inn, located at the Madge Lake Golf Resort, and follows the beautiful trails to backcountry huts staffed with some of Kamsack's finest volunteers.  It's a memorable and fun day for all, whether skiing 5, 10, 20, 25, 30 or 45 km.  Registration information is available through the Kamsack Ski Club website or on the Town News page.



Kamsack Wildlife Federation's Ice Fishing Derby

Catch the biggest fish on Kamsack's Reservoir! This ice fishing derby is held each year in March by our hosts, the Kamsack Wildlife Federation. The annual event usually takes place on the last Sunday in March, in 2014 this will be March 30th.   Sponsor a hole for a child. Only $20 per hole.  To sponsor, contact Clint Chernoff at 542-2227


Kamsack Green Day              

The Town of Kamsack dedicates the fourth Saturday of May as Kamsack Green Day.  On this day, residents are encourage to do their part in cleaning up our community.  In the weeks following Kamsack Green Day, the Town of Kamsack schedules extra pick ups of compostable items.  This includes tree limbs, grass clippings, leaves, garden debris and any 100% compostable items placed in garbage bags next to your back alley garbage cans.  For more recycling options in Kamsack, click here. There are groups and community members who volunteer for clean up of community green spaces.  Person wishing to volunteer may contact the Town Office 542-2155.   Working together for a better community!




The Verigin Doukhobour Heritage Museum celebrates it's annual heritage day.  Visit the museum, taste stone oven baked bread and see how the Doukhobour lived long ago.


Canada Day Celebrations

Celebrate Canada Day, hometown style with a slow pitch tournament, giant inflatables for the kids, food booth, beer gardens, classic car show, entertainment and fireworks.  This event is always held at the Kamsack Sportsgrounds.  Fireworks go off at dusk.

Riverside Celebrity Golf Tournament

When's the last time you had an opportunity to help a great community organization like the Riverside Golf Course and golf with a celebrity like NHL Player, Darcy Hordichuk.  This annual event is held in the middle of July.  Sign up early.  This event sells out quickly.

Water Ski and Wakeboard Saskatchewan Clinic

Hosted by the Kamsack Recreation Department in beautiful Duck Mountain Provincial Park July 26-28, 2013, this clinic was a hit with all who participated.  Click on the picture to see video of the demonstration put on at the end of the day by instructor, 2010 Canadian Champion Braden Stumborg.

Open to all ages and skill levels, this clinic will be returning July 25 - 27, 2014.  Call Kev the Kamsack Recreation Director on 542-2044 to register.



Annual Registration Night

Clubs and organizations set up information booths to help you and your family decide which activities to do throughout the winter months.  Registration night is scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 2014.

Culture Days

Come and experience the many unique cultures that our community has to offer.   Founded in 2009, Culture Days is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a national network of cultural connections devoted to providing Canadians with opportunities to participate in, and appreciate, all forms of arts and culture. Through an annual three-day national celebration each September, hundreds of thousands of artists and cultural organizations in hundreds of cities and towns come together and invite Canadians to participate in free interactive and “behind the scenes” activities to discover their cultural spirit and passion.   Click here for a link to the local Culture Days website.

Kamsack & District Indoor Rodeo

Contact: Carol Belley at 306-542-3553. The Kamsack & District Indoor Rodeo is Kamsack’s largest & longest running organized event. Held the last weekend in September, 2014 will be the 16th anniversary for the indoor rodeo. The annual two-day rodeo is dual approved, sanctioned by both the Canadian Cowboys Association and the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association. Exciting and action-packed, with over 150 cowboys and cowgirls coming from across Western Canada, Ontario and the United States. Watch the spills and thrills in Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Ladies Barrel racing, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, and of course, Bull Riding! All events are held indoors at the Broda Sportsplex in Kamsack, where the weather is never a factor!


Christmas in November Tradeshow
This tradeshow is sure to get you on a great start to your Christmas shopping.  The tradeshow is open to home-based businesses, crafters and food booths.  Sponsored and organized by the Kamsack Playhouse Theatre.  To book your booth, contact the Town Office 542-2155.

Moonlight Madness

The Town of Kamsack hosts the Annual Santa Clause parade at the end of the month. Santa & his reindeer are joined by horse & wagon rides, carol singers from the Kamsack Community Choir and storytime reading from Kamsack Librarian. Come out and join hundreds of Kamsack residents to watch the parade before enjoying hot chocolate & cookies at the Senior Centre. Dinner Theatre
A great event for your office Christmas Party or to impress that special someone in your life, Dinner Theatre has become one of Kamsack's favorite and most anticipated events.  Our local Kamsack Players Drama Club never disappoint, with a great evening of quality food and entertainment.  A key ingredient to holiday celebrations in Kamsack.
