Veregin Shishliki Barbeque
The Veregin Recreation Board has been holding a Shishliki BBQ and dance at the rink each year, going on for decades now. The BBQ brings together approximately 700 people over the course of the day. It is one of several functions held during the course of the year to raise funds for the operation of the Veregin Rink and maintenance of the park in Veregin.
In the past horseshoe tournaments, wing nights, curling (when ice conditions permit), and comedy nights have provided entertainment. These events also take several extra sets of volunteer hands, for which the Recreation Board is very appreciative.
Members of the Recreation Board are Jason Chernoff, President; Aaron Chernoff, Vice President; Jeff Bloudoff, Treasurer; Kim Romaniuk, Secretary and Ruby Dubasov.
