DAP VISION The DAP vision was revealed at the Public Presentation on October 15th. The streets of downtown Kamsack are anchored with 6 new community banners. Each banner illustrates a key word that describe part of the vision for a new downtown Kamsack. Here they are:
Signature In 5 years, Downtown Kamsack will identify its signature as "the Garden of Saskatchewan"; a deeply rooted, culturally diverse community that provides year round opportunities for residents, neighbours and tourists to truly experience Kamsack's natural beauty and small-town charm.
Renew Kamsack will have a downtown in bloom filled with renewed pride, color and vibrancy providing an atmosphere that is inviting and attractive, safe and comfortable for all. Downtown will be the neighbourhood activity center for a community of people that value cultural diversity, active lifestyles, environmental awareness and sustainability.
Together The Garden of Saskatchewan, being rich in Ukrainian, Doukhobour and First Nation culture, will promote the traditions of gardens and gardening as our cultural connector that tie us all together no matter what culture, age, race, incomes and accessibilities.
Grow Kamsack will encourage businesses to grow by embracing entrepreneurship and small business in a thriving retail district that offers essential and unique shopping experiences.
Evolve Downtown Kamsack will continue to evolve our community by celebrating successess, arts, history and heritage.
Sustain We will protect and enhance existing buildings and infrastructure and hold them to high urban design standards to sustain the history of our community. |
